Oh my goodness. Um, that I have way too many interests?

On the easy accessible shelves right now is a combination of manga (Gintama, Ghost Hunt, Library Wars, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Kingdom Hearts, etc), Doctor Who tie-in novels (both recent hardcovers and a few of the old Target paperbacks), a bunch of knitting books, Torchwood tie-in novels, John Barrowman's autobiographies, Star Trek novels, some old scifi (including Scavengers in Space, which Jack is reading in my icon), Torchwood and Doctor Who encyclopedias, a couple of baking books, some other graphic novels (Scary Godmother, Ghostbusters, Star Trek manga, Doctor Who, etc), Ghostbusters novel, Quantum Leap novels, and more. And that's just what I can get to without moving stuff!!!

If all my books were together there'd be that plus lots more scifi novels, crafting books, compilations of comic strips (I only have one volume of Unshelved and when I have $$ that will need to be corrected), lots of true ghost stories, history books, Harry Potter, more cookbooks, LOTS more knitting books, Shakespeare, and more.

Yeah that library Belle has in Beauty and the Beast? I so needs it. BADLY. Of course if I had that many shelves they would be filled. And organized properly with a local catalog with full MARC records in it. :D

Pern. I've always wanted to see the world of Pern (from Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series) since I started reading the books. It just sounds so beautiful! Yeah there's Thread and other nasty things but it just sounds like a gorgeous beautiful world.

Plus I wanna ride a dragon.

Okay, I know a lot of you out there really want a knitted Dalek. I've lost track of how many people have begged or even tried swiping some of the Dalek family that I've made. I've been telling people no, because as much as I'd love to make a ton of Daleks, it's really REALLY painful to knit.

Then my friend had an idea. I'm in the process of knitting one last Dalek, pink with hot pink, to raise money for Relay for Life. (sorry for the crummy picture, my camera is misbehaving and my phone isn't getting signal to upload)





I'm *trying* to get it done in time for Relay but it's iffy. I can't do more than two rounds at a time, with LONG breaks between, or I'm in a lot of pain. But I'm making every effort to get it done by the night of our Relay, which is Friday August 13th.

I bet you're asking now, how do I try to win this awesome Dalek? It's very simple!

Donate to our Relay for Life team. For every $10 in donations you get one raffle ticket (so if you donate $50, you get 5 tickets). Make sure you put in the message field that you are entering the Dalek raffle!!

You can donate to me, at my Relay participant page or you can donate to my team, Team GEEK (or even to one of my teammates). I'd prefer if it's to me, since I can see that in my participant center, but as long as the donation goes to someone on my team and you mention the Dalek raffle in the message, you'll get the raffle ticket.

We also will take raffle donations during the event! It will be the same, $10 per ticket. I plan to draw the winning ticket toward the end of the Relay event so maybe 4 or 5 am Saturday morning. Winner need not be present! As long as I have some kind of way of contacting you (so make sure to put your phone and/or email in the donation form!!), I'll get the Dalek to the winner somehow :)

Day 30 – Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

I've been procrastinating on this last day of the meme because frankly I'd run out of ideas for the "Whatever tickles your fancy" days (srsly there are too many!)

So I've finally decided, I'll give y'all a preview of a Doctor Who story I'm working on right now (first fic I've written in months actually, I've been running up against horrid writer's block). It's just the start of it, and I don't know when it'll be done because I'm still trying to figure out the full plot but I've been dying to share it. :)

emryldlady, she of the SUPER EPIC AWESOME, said it beautifully. Right here, basically everything except Matt Smith & Amy I agree with 110%.

I don't want to hear wank about what John said or the whole Ianto thing. I've said my piece about what I think of CoE and RTD, I've washed my hands of it. For all I care, RTD & his crappy CoE can go rot in the same place my stupid ex is rotting, which is no where near my thoughts.

Now, I'm gonna go back to writing some epic awesome Ten and Donna fic, because I refuse to believe that's all the time those two traveled together, because Donna is just way too awesome for that.

Day 26 – Favorite Who Actress

This one's easy -- hands down, Catherine Tate!! She is AWESOME! I love Donna's attitude, the fact that she has NO PROBLEM telling the Doctor off, she packs like me, and OMG in Journey's End when she did her Doctor impersonation, EEE! :D

Plus everything else I've seen so far of her has been amazing. Her Nan character is just too hilarious for words, and scarily is just like my Nana is starting to become. The "Nan's Christmas Carol" special she did this year was the funniest thing ever!

Not to mention, I heard one Doctor Who audiobook she did and she's so great with the different voices! There were a couple characters in there where I momentarily thought I was listening to a Big Finish audio and there was another actor in there. She's that good!

So yes, I am a TOTAL Donna fangirl, and Catherine herself outside of Who as well :D

Day 25 – Favorite Who Actor

Geee I don't know. *looks at userpics* Could it be the handsome former Time Agent Captain Jack Harkness?

Yes I'm a huge John Barrowman fan. I love him, I love his family (I've met his parents & sister who are all wonderful), I love his character.

After John it would have to be a close tie between Tom Baker & David Tennant. Though Matt is really winning me over more and more (he's so cute!!!)

Day 24 – Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

I'm running out of stuff that tickles my fancy so I'm gonna open this up.

Suggest audiobooks, Big Finish audios (cuz they're totally a different thing than just audiobooks y'know), fanfics, websites, etc to me!

I haven't been reading much fanfic lately but I could use some good fic. Tenth, Fourth, or Eleventh Doctor stories; or Jack's Coat/Doctor's Coat porn (there's not nearly enough of that out there!); or total crack!fic.


I'm gonna go get some soup and hope it helps clear this stuffiness. Evil sneezing!!! :(
