I decided I am so bloody sick of snow I had to change my LJ layout.

I'm not entirely in love with this one... I dunno. I'm not seeing something I like.

ETA: I changed it again. The strawberries were nice but the fact that the layout didn't work with the navigation bar was driving me absolutely batty! This one is simple but I kinda like it.

I am still trying to wrap my head around CSS, so I can't really figure out how to make something I like.

Anyone good at doing LJ layouts? I want something with the sidebar on the left, the recent entries/user info/etc stuff at the top, and a really wide space for journal entries on the right. And a nice big header. Maybe a Fourth Doctor theme since I'm doing a Four Scarf right now? I dunno. I liked that snowflake one I had before, though I kind of wanted the entry box to be a bit wider (I guess cuz I'm on a Mac and my screen is really wide, but not like super wide, just a little wider than what that was).

Argh I'm just rambling and avoiding work. My brain doesn't want to function right now. I guess I should go do a little knitting to clear my head.

Hi all!

I'm sitting here in the "Taking RDA for a test drive" session and I've found a spot to plug in my laptop (Ianto is happy, he's not spending a long session on battery) and I am confused as all get out so I'm blogging :D

I'm reading the introduction to the 22nd edition of Dewey Decimal Classification for my cataloging class and the following instruction passage just made me giggle:

Likewise, class a work on the De Havilland 98 Mosquito (a specific British World War II fighter-bomber) in the number for fighter- bombers 623.7463 (not 623.7463094109044, the number for British fighter-bombers in World War II).

I guess it's mostly because I had Jacqueline flying a Mosquito in my story "Days of Future Past: Wistful World War II" but still, how's that for a long Dewey number? :D

I still need to work on my TARDIS Big Bang stories (anyone want to read/comment/make suggestions/crack the whip/wave pom poms for me?) and post up about the super awesome bachelorette party from the 5th! :)

But for now...back to reading about Dewey so I can get this over with :D

I feel really icky. No energy. So what am I doing? I'm laying in bed burrowed amongst all my blankets and reading LiveJournal. Thank goodness for Ianto! (he's actually better than a heating pad, unlike my old way too hot laptop he's just warm enough to feel nice laying on my tummy)

I shouldn't allow myself to browse the ALA store. It is a dangerous place.

I really want to buy half the READ posters there...and that's a tiny percentage of the ones they've put out (we used to have like 20-30 of them up in the old library building and none of those are in the store currently).

I already have the Orlando Bloom one (he's reading LotR, natch), but I so want Alan Rickman (Catcher in the Rye, nice pick), Ewan McGregor (reading Beatrix Potter!), Stephen Hawking (can't tell what he's reading, the image is too small), America Ferrara (can't see her book either), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (the Watchmen, of course, and the READ is made to look like the book cover a bit), Rachel Ray (reading the Stinky Cheese, that looks interesting!), Danica Patrick (can't see her book either), and YODA!!!!!!!!

But I don't have room for more than one poster on my wall right now and the Doctor is up there. With Astrid :)

I wonder whose ear I can tug at ALA and get them to do a John Barrowman READ poster. Now *that* would bump the Doctor off the wall. Sorry Doctor but the Captain is hotter! ;)

So...anyone who texts/calls me, you won't be able to reach me til Tuesday (at least...hopefully it won't get delayed). But I'm gonna try and leave Yahoo Messenger up, and see if I can't get AIM to stay up for a bit too, plus there's always email. I miss texting....*cry*
