So, I don't have a phone until Tuesday. *pout* This sucks.
Other than the phone thing today was pretty nice.
Carole and I went to the Acen staff meeting, it was a fairly short one, though there was some very sad news that the IRT DH lost his wife :( But we resolved a couple departmental questions, and talked to the DH of staffing so we should be on the official staff roster very soon. :D I brought my bento, very simple one, just rice noodles with teriyaki beef on top. Yum!
Then we went and got her dad from work and got a glimpse of Air Force One sitting there as we headed out, eeee!!! That was really awesome (and the camera was in the big bag in the trunk damnit!)
We went and did a little printing at NEIU and then headed to Sprint's service center. Waited a few minutes for a tech. While we were waiting a little baby crawling on the floor toddled up to Carole, buried his (or her, I wasn't quite sure) face in Carole's shoe and SIGHED! She was wearing her work shoes so we suppose that baby likes the smell of coffee. But it was just so hilarious to hear this little sigh come up from the floor!
So then the tech said it would be 30-45 minutes to try and fix the phone. Cool. So we walk next door to Panera, and Carole got a bagel but I knew I was coming home to pizza so I just had pop. We went back...and nope, phone is not fixable but for $35 (basically, new activation fee) they could replace it. Good! But, no RAZRs in store so he had to order from the warehouse. Booo! And Monday is a holiday so nothing til Tuesday. I have to go without my cellphone until TUESDAY. WAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
You really don't realize how ATTACHED you are to a phone til it's broken. That phone is never more than a few feet from me and now it's unusable. *sigh* Thank goodness I had the foresight to back up all my ringers and wallies as well as contacts to my computer last night. They said they'll copy over my contacts but in case that fails, I have my backup too. That software was a very good investment.
Oh and the coolest part? The gal who checked me in apparently was named Tosh! Carole heard her called by name while I was busy shelling out money. *snicker* Tosh helped me fix my Jack phone!!!! (yes I have the same model of phone as Captain Jack)
So now I gotta get my stuff put together for the morning, I'm meeting up with Carole and Joanna at Carole's to head up to Milwaukee to see James!!! First James Lee Stanley concert in six years. And ironically the third time I'm seeing James for Valentine's Day (even if I'm a bit late this year but it still counts!) The very first time I saw James live was Feb 14, 1999. Then I saw several shows including Genessee Depot, Fitzgerald's in Berwyn, Cedarberg WI, and more, and the last show I saw before my evil ex-boyfriend cut me off from a lot of friends and stuff I enjoy was Feb 14, 2003 when we had him on the radio at WZRD at Northeastern.
Oh and since today is Owen Harper's birthday...well let's just say a little birdy snarked at us in the car today that it's also Owena's and I'll see once I dry my hair and pack my bag if I can't whip up a little Valentine/Birthday fic for her ;)
So...anyone who texts/calls me, you won't be able to reach me til Tuesday (at least...hopefully it won't get delayed). But I'm gonna try and leave Yahoo Messenger up, and see if I can't get AIM to stay up for a bit too, plus there's always email. I miss texting....*cry*
